In September, I went to Riga to take part in the EUCYS Contest to represent the US, alongside finalists from Europe and the rest of the globe. When it came time to share my research project RetinAI, speaking to people of various cultures and areas of scientific interest challenged me to articulate myself clearly and effectively. It was an incredibly rewarding experience to learn more about people working to overcome real-world problems and obstacles within physics, biology, computer science, and more.
During the week, I also got to share RetinAI with representatives and experts working for the EU, and it gave me great insight into how it could potentially work to benefit patients. Lastly, during the awards ceremony, it was and continues to be an immense honor to take away the Core Prize, 3rd Place.
